Hey Neighbour,

Obviously the best pizza in London is in North London. Time Out just crowned Ozzy’s Apizza in Finsbury Park, New Haven-style pies inside The Bedford Tavern. The launch is tonight and I’m going. Are you?

Second thing. We’ve started documenting the This Is Me event, the whole journey of putting it together, the good and the bad. The first video is live. Have a watch.

Plan Your Weekend:

👀 Got Something To Show Us?

Last week, I shared that My North London and The Avieli Arthouse are bringing a Community Show ’n’ Tell to Colindale on 27 November.

A few of you replied asking how to take part, so here we go!

We're looking for local people who'd like to share something they've made or created. Maybe you paint, take photographs, sew, write poetry, make music or have another creative hobby.

The idea is simple: bring something to show, or perform something, and tell us the story about it.

You don't have to be a professional. We're just as interested in the things people make at home, in their spare time.

Sound like you? Fill in our short form and tell us what you'd like to share.

📋 Round Up

Bits and bobs worth knowing.

🦷 Can’t find an NHS dentist? A High Barnet dentist built a free website to help: Dr Majid Saeed has been a dentist in High Barnet for 20 years and sees how many people struggle to find an NHS appointment. So he built Odenta, a free platform that matches patients with dental practices that have spare NHS appointments.

🎄 St Pancras has built a spinning advent calendar:This year’s 11-metre Christmas tree is based on a German Christmas pyramid. Three tiers slowly rotate to show German landscapes and landmarks, with 24 little windows around the base. From 1 December a new window opens every day, along with a competition to win Eurostar tickets to Germany and hotel stays.

🏆 Tottenham’s Nigerian tapas restaurant Chuku’s just won a national award: Chuku’s won People’s Choice of the Year at the BIH Spotlight Awards 2026, which celebrate Black and ethnic minority talent in UK hospitality.

🧥 Got a coat you never wear? Someone else needs it: Wrap Up London is collecting warm coats, hats, gloves and scarves from 2 to 22 November for charities helping people through winter. Children’s coats welcome. No fur. Drop-off points across North London include libraries (staffed hours only), fire stations at Islington, Kentish Town, Stoke Newington, Wembley and Harrow, and pubs including the Bull & Gate in Kentish Town and the Duke of York in St John’s Wood. Safestores in Holloway, Stoke Newington, St John’s Wood and Wembley also take donations.

🎭 If An Art Installation And A Rave Had A Baby...

Meet Lighthouse, a part gig, part theatre show where the audience watches from the stage instead of the seats. You'll be standing right where the performance unfolds, rather than watching it from the auditorium.

Credit: Karol Wynszynski

Musician Jez Colborne takes you into the strange world of a lighthouse keeper who's been alone at sea for decades. His soundtrack draws on jungle, drum & bass and breakbeat, while projections, film and movement bring the story to life.

And then the performance transforms into a 90-minute rave for audiences to join in.

It's happening at artsdepot in North Finchley for one weekend only. This is a standing performance, so comfortable shoes are a good idea.

Lighthouse | 📍artsdepot, N12 | 21 & 22 November | From £15

** Full transparency: this is a paid partnership with Artsdepot

🔔 Down The Road

New places you should know about

📚 Persephone Books (W1): the publisher and bookshop is back in London after five years, in the old Pollock’s Toy Museum building on Scala Street. They dig up forgotten twentieth century women writers and put them back in print, all 155 titles in matching grey covers with patterned endpapers. Open Wednesday to Saturday, though the building’s still being restored so expect a sprinkle chaos. (yes it’s a W postcode, but it’s in Camden)

🥖 The Dusty Knuckle (N4): the much loved bakery has opened its third site, on Blackstock Road. Sourdough, doorstep sandwiches and a proper sit-in cafe this time, in the old Il Cavaliere spot. They’re also a social enterprise, training up and employing young people who’ve been through the criminal justice system. I went along to the opening night with Joe from Finsbury Park Focus and looking forward to going again.

🍷 Yield (N1): the wine shop and bar has opened a third North London site, on Essex Road. Natural wines, made with minimal intervention, plus cheese and charcuterie. Settle in with a glass or pick up a bottle to take home.

Every year, London’s leading architects build an entire city out of gingerbread. This is the 10th edition.
