Started by locals who wanted a market they’d actually want to visit, Our Stokey Market opens its doors again this weekend at Room 71–73 on Church Street. Expect curated vintage, local makers, fashion, homeware and prints. Free to get in, 11am to 5pm both days.
St Mary’s Festival Family Fun Day | 📍St Mary’s Church, Upper Street, N1 | 12 September | Free
St Mary’s is opening its festival with a simple afternoon for local families to spend time together. Children can bounce between two bouncy castles, get their faces painted, follow a treasure hunt around the church and make things at the craft tables, while older kids have table tennis, giant Jenga and mural painting at the youth club. Islington’s fire brigade will be stopping by too, and there is free afternoon tea for grown-ups, with squash and biscuits for children. 2pm to 5pm.
Bon Jovi Pop-Up Experience | 📍Camden Market Stables, NW1 | Until 13 September | Free
Camden Market has given Bon Jovi fans their own temporary space for the week. Inside the UMusic shop in the Stables, you can browse tour memorabilia, limited releases and band merchandise, hear Bon Jovi playing throughout the market and meet other fans who have come for the takeover. There are also a few extras tied to the event, including giveaways and a chance to win a custom painted guitar signed by the band. Open 10am to 7pm, and the pop-up has been extended until 13 September.
Lady Somerset Road Street Party | 📍Lady Somerset Road, Highgate NW5 | 13 September | Free
For one afternoon, Lady Somerset Road becomes one long shared table. Residents close part of the street to traffic, bring out homemade food and sit down together for lunch from midday, with local businesses adding a few dishes too. After that, the street stays busy with live music, a ceilidh, which is a big group folk dance anyone can join, kids’ games, a magic show, tea and cakes, plus stalls for local groups and people rehoming plants, clothes and jewellery. 12pm to 5pm.

Late Summer Picnic in Broomfield Community Orchard | 📍Broomfield Park, N13 | 13 September | Free
Broomfield’s usual Apple Day is off this year after the drought badly affected the crop, so the orchard volunteers are holding a late summer picnic instead. Bring your own food, find a spot among the trees and stay for live music from local performers, a tug of war and an easy afternoon with neighbours. 1pm to 5pm.
Woodcroft Wildspace Apple Day | 📍Woodcroft Wildspace, N21 | 12 September | (£)
An apple filled afternoon for people who want to find out just how different one apple can taste from another. Woodcroft Wildspace is running three small tasting sessions where you can try a selection of apple varieties, compare them properly and then buy some of the ones you liked to take home afterwards. Each tasting lasts an hour and numbers are kept small, with separate spaces for adults and under 12s.
Wild Food Foraging Walk | 📍Hampstead Heath, NW3 | 13 September | (£)
Foraging simply means learning which wild plants you can safely eat and how to recognise them. On this small-group walk, Heath Bunting will stop around Hampstead Heath to point out edible plants, trees and fungi, explain how people have traditionally used them, and show you which poisonous species to avoid. You will also learn how to pick responsibly so there is plenty left growing afterwards. Two 90-minute walks run at 12pm and 2pm. Children 15 and under go free, and dogs are welcome.
Tottenham Flower and Produce Festival | 📍Lordship Recreation Ground, N17 | 12 September | Free
This is a big community day built around what people in Tottenham have grown, cooked and made themselves. In the main show, locals bring along their fruit, vegetables, flowers, baking and crafts to be displayed and judged, while the rest of Lordship Rec fills with food stalls, plant sellers, children’s activities, drumming, kite flying and practical workshops on things like mushrooms, sourdough, composting and flower arranging. There is also a community choir, orchard walk and plenty happening around the Hub. 11am to 5pm.
Queen’s Park Day | 📍Queen’s Park, NW6 | 13 September | Free
Once a year, Queen’s Park fills up with the people, clubs, performers and small businesses from around the neighbourhood for its big community day. There is an all-pets dog show, local choirs, Morris and Flamenco dancing, falconry, ferret racing, food and craft stalls, plus homemade competitions for everything from Bakewell tarts to things made from cardboard. And, slightly unexpectedly, there is a full Wheel of Death stunt act in the main arena too. 11am to 4.30pm.
SPCA Community Fair | 📍Saint Pancras Community Association, NW1 | 12 September | Free
Saint Pancras Community Association is celebrating 10 years at its Plender Street home, and this fair is a bit of a birthday party for the people who have used the space over the past decade. There will be community stalls, food, family activities and entertainment, with a chance to see the centre after its recent renovations and meet some of the groups and people connected to it. 12pm to 4pm.
Cheers for Cabaret! | 📍Phoenix Arts Club, WC2H | Until 13 September | (£)
A cabaret night made up of several different acts rather than one continuous show. Across the evening, you might see drag, burlesque, character comedy and other variety performances, all inside the Phoenix Arts Club just off Charing Cross Road. The exact line-up can vary by night. Shows run from 7.30pm to 9.15pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until 13 September. Tickets £25.
Belsize Baroque Orchestra Autumn Concert | 📍St Peter’s Church, NW3 | 13 September | (£)
Belsize Baroque has been playing together since 2002, bringing students, young professionals and experienced amateur musicians into the same orchestra. They perform on period instruments, meaning instruments made in the style used when this music was originally written, so Handel, Geminiani, Avison and Castrucci sound closer to how 18th century audiences might have heard them. This autumn concert is directed by baroque violinist Kati Debretzeni, who leads from within the orchestra rather than standing at a podium. Doors open at 6pm, music starts at 6.30pm. Tickets £15, students free.
St George the Martyr Open Day | 📍Queen Square, Bloomsbury, WC1 | 13 September | Free
Ever walked past St George the Martyr and wondered what is actually inside? The church has been sitting on Queen Square for more than 300 years, and for one afternoon they are opening up parts you would normally never see. You can climb into the roof space, get close to the historic ceiling, join an hourly tour and hear some of the stories tied to the building and the people who passed through it. There are also exhibitions and simple family activities if you want to linger. 1pm to 5pm.

Inclusion Festival | 📍Winkfield Resource Centre, N22 | 12 September | Free
Disability Action Haringey is holding its first ever Inclusion Festival, created for Haringey’s D/deaf and disabled community to spend the day together, meet people and enjoy something social without it feeling formal. There will be music, bingo, games, arts and crafts, food, a raffle and information stalls, with BSL interpreters there throughout. The venue is accessible, and the whole day is about making space for people to join in at their own pace. 10am to 4pm.
A Celebration of Craft at Florentia Village | 📍Harringay Warehouse District, N4 | 12 September | Free
Florentia Village is opening up for the day, so you can actually see inside one of the creative spaces that makes up the Harringay Warehouse District. As part of Open House Festival, there will be architecture tours with Turner.Works, open studios, short talks and drop-in workshops, plus a local makers market to browse between sessions. It is less about one big event and more about wandering through the building, meeting people who make things there and seeing how the space is used. 11am to 3.30pm. No ticket needed.
Gaunson Open Studios & Markfield Road Festival | 📍Gaunson Creative Studios, Tottenham, N15 | 11-13 September | Free
More than 50 artists are opening the doors to the studios where they actually work, so you can wander through spaces usually closed to the public and see ceramics, painting, printmaking, photography, jewellery, fashion, film and design in the middle of being made. The studios are also part of the wider Markfield Road Festival, with live music, workshops, street food, talks and children’s activities happening nearby. Friday runs 6pm to 10pm, then Saturday and Sunday from 2pm to 6pm.
Dracula | 📍Broomfield Park, N13 | 12 September | (£)
Bram Stoker’s Dracula is being staged outdoors in Broomfield Park, but this version starts with Mina Harker trying to convince a Victorian scientific society that vampires are real. As she tells them what happened with Count Dracula, the story unfolds around her, turning the park into the setting for one of literature’s best known gothic horror tales. British Touring Shakespeare are behind the production, following previous outdoor shows of Frankenstein, Jekyll & Hyde and The Hound of the Baskervilles. Tickets are £16 for adults, £10 for under 16s and £40 for a family of four. Some scenes may be too frightening for younger children.
Palmers Green Autumn Artisan Market | 📍Devonshire Square, N13 | 12 September | Free
Devonshire Square is filling up with small local traders for the afternoon, so it is a good one for a slow browse rather than a big destination market. Expect things like French cheese, brownies and baked goods, handmade jewellery, crochet, homeware, crystals, gifts and other bits made by independent sellers, with a mix of familiar traders and new ones each time. 11am to 4pm.
Dead Electric Live at The Black Barn | 📍Forty Hall Farm, Enfield, EN2 | 12 September | (£)
The Black Barn is getting a full evening of live rock and pop-punk, with Dead Electric playing the songs people actually know the words to. Their set moves from Paramore, Green Day and Blink-182 to Evanescence, Nirvana, Kings of Leon, Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan, so expect plenty of familiar choruses rather than obscure deep cuts. Doors open at 7pm, music runs until 11pm. Adults £12.50, teens £8 with a supervising adult.

Open House London 2026 | 📍Across London | 12 to 20 September | Free
Open House starts this week. From 12 to 20 September, hundreds of places across London will open for free, including private homes, studios, offices, places of worship, historic buildings and bits of infrastructure that are normally closed to the public. Some need advance booking, but plenty simply turn up and have a look around. The easiest way to do it is to check the programme by area and see what is open near you.
Barnet Food Festival | 📍RAF Museum London, Colindale, NW9 | 12 & 13 September | (£)
Why not spend the weekend tasting flavours from around the world, catching some live music and wandering among the aircraft at the RAF Museum? There will be more than 40 food and drink traders, serving everything from Filipino BBQ and Nepalese momo to Turkish gözleme, Japanese dishes, cakes and sweet treats. Kids get their own free zone too, with face painting, circus games, biscuit decorating and an inflatable obstacle course. Tickets are £10 for ages 16+, with under 16s free.
Wembley Park Wellness Festival | 📍Across Wembley Park | 13 September | Free
Wembley Park is turning into one big free wellness day, with yoga, Pilates, HIIT, Soca, Bollywood, Bhangra, Zumba and a run or walk around the stadium. There is also a DJ, crafts, Wii Sports, sip and paint, street food and the Summer Market. 9am to 6pm. Some sessions need booking.
Kentish Town Summer Send-Off | 📍Kentish Town Community Centre, NW5 | 12 September | Free
Kentish Town Community Centre is giving summer one last send-off with an afternoon for local families and neighbours to drop into together. There is messy play for little ones, face painting, art sessions, an adult dance fitness class, food from 1pm and the Camden Health Bus on site too. 12pm to 4pm.
The Big Woof | 📍King’s Cross, N1C | 12-13 September | Free + paid activities
This is a whole weekend built around doing things with your dog. Bring yours along for show-ring competitions, agility and scent courses, dog yoga, workshops or even a photo session, or sit down and paint a tiny portrait of them to take home. No dog? You can still come along, with a Cuddle Club for spending time with friendly dogs, plus an independent pet market to wander through.
London Podcast Festival | 📍Kings Place, King’s Cross, N1 | Until 13 September | (£)
This is the final weekend of the London Podcast Festival, where you can sit in the room while some of your favourite podcasts are recorded live. Instead of hearing the finished episode days later, you get the audience questions, off-script moments and bits that may or may not make the edit. The last few days include shows on comedy, film, culture and more, so it is worth checking what is still on before the festival wraps up on Sunday.
Rhythm & Ride Festival | 📍Across Archway, N19 | 12 September | £1
Rhythm & Ride is a moving music festival where a different Archway venue hosts a live set each hour, then cargo bike taxis help people get to the next stop. So you might start at Nambucca, move on to Owl & Hitchhiker or Mother Redcap, then keep following the music through the neighbourhood until the evening. There is also free activity at The Dance Hall and Navigator Square, with special guests including Jazzi Q and Wookie. 1pm to 9pm. One £1 ticket gets you into the participating venues.
London Design Festival | 📍Across London | 12 - 20 September | Free + paid events
This is not one festival in one place. For nine days, studios, galleries, museums, shops and public spaces across London put on exhibitions, installations, open studios, workshops and talks about everything from furniture and architecture to craft, fashion and new materials. This year is the 24th edition, with 11 neighbourhood design districts.
Table Top Museums | 📍The Art Workers’ Guild, Bloomsbury, WC1N | 12 September | Free
For one day, people bring their personal collections into the Art Workers’ Guild and turn a table into their own tiny museum. More than 30 of them will be there, devoted to things as specific as abandoned shopping lists, Soviet Christmas decorations and 1950s medical slides. You can wander from table to table, hear why someone started collecting something most of us would throw away, and see the stories they have built around it. 11am to 5pm.

For three days, Clissold Park becomes a big outdoor food market, with street food, bars, grocery stalls and craft sellers spread around the park. There is live music and DJs, children’s rides, a little land train and a few family activities alongside the food. Friday 10am to 7pm, Saturday 9am to 7pm and Sunday 10am to 6pm. Cubitt Community Book & Zine Fair | 📍Cubitt, Angel Mews, N1 | 13 September | Free
Spend an afternoon wandering from table to table, flicking through handmade books, comics, prints and zines, and chatting to the people who made them. If you have never come across a zine before, it is a small self-published booklet made around anything someone cares enough to put into print, from art and poetry to personal stories and local history. This is also Cubitt’s final book and zine fair at its Angel Mews home. From 4pm, BB BIXX will be DJing and talking to some of the stallholders. 12pm to 6pm.
Esteni Pop-Up Market | 📍83 Rivington Street, EC2A | 12-13 September | Free
Esteni Market is bringing together more than 30 POC-owned small businesses for a weekend of shopping, food and music in Shoreditch. Expect independent makers and brands, street food, drinks, sweet treats, live DJs and creative workshops, with plenty of time to wander around and meet the people behind the stalls.
Keeping the Peace: Activists, Pacifists and Peacemakers | 📍Conway Hall, WC1 | 12 September | (£)
A two-hour walk through Bloomsbury looking at the people who argued against war, organised for peace and helped shape ideas around remembrance and rebuilding. Humanist heritage expert Madeleine Goodall leads the route from Conway Hall, stopping at streets and squares linked to activists, pacifists and campaigners, and explaining what they were fighting for and why it mattered at the time. 2pm to 4pm. Have You Seen the Light? Tom Dixon at London Design Festival | 📍Coal Drops Yard, King’s Cross, N1C | 12- 20 September | Free
British designer Tom Dixon is turning his entire Coal Drops Yard showroom into an exhibition for the London Design Festival. Instead of looking at furniture and lighting on shelves, the whole space becomes part of the display, with new lamps, furniture and installations set up throughout the rooms. It is also the first time his full AW26 collection has been shown in London, alongside a first look at pieces coming next year. Open daily, 10am to 7pm.
Flo & Joan: With Feeling (Tour Preview) | 📍artsdepot, N12 | 12 September | (£)
Flo & Joan are a musical comedy duo who write sharp, deadpan songs about everyday life, and this is a first look at their brand-new show before the full autumn tour begins. Because it is a work-in-progress, they are still trying things out, shaping the jokes and seeing what lands with an audience. This time they are using the setlist of a “real band” as the loose structure for a show about music, bands and the strange business of performing. 7.45pm to 9pm.

Every Sunday all summer, there's a free band playing in Regent's Park. Jazz, brass, steel and concert bands, with swing dancing on five Sundays and jazz on selected Saturdays. Now in its tenth year.
