Kilburn High Road Festival | 📍Kilburn High Road, NW6 | Until 15 August | Free / (£)
Kilburn’s stories move out of the theatre and onto the High Road this weekend. On Saturday, the Kilburn House Band plays three free sets outside Kilburn Market, mixing the area’s reggae roots with the many sounds heard in its pubs and music venues over the years. You can also take a 25 minute headphone walk through Kilburn’s food history, or catch the final day of KEITH, a short play staged inside a café about a man who lived here for all 103 years of his life. Across both days, look out for giant artworks and portraits of local shopkeepers along the road. Live music at 11.30am, 1pm and 3.30pm. Some performances require booking.
Roundhouse Comedy Festival | 📍Roundhouse, NW1 | Until 18 August | (£)
This weekend, the festival swaps straight stand-up for two live comedy game shows from US comedy platform Dropout. On Saturday, Um, Actually tests how much comedians know about films, games and other nerdy obsessions, with points only awarded when a correction begins with “um, actually”. On Sunday, Dirty Laundry has Ivo Graham, Jenny Eclair, Kiell Smith-Bynoe and Stevie Martin guessing which embarrassing secret belongs to whom, while audience confessions may be added to throw them off. Both start at 7.30pm and are for ages 16+
Enfield Art Circle Exhibition | 📍Capel Manor Gardens, Enfield | Until 16 August | (£)
See what Enfield’s local artists have been painting, drawing and creating at this annual exhibition inside Capel Manor Gardens. Framed works will be on display and available to buy, so you may leave with a new favourite for the wall. Entry is included with garden admission and no booking is needed. Open 10am to 5pm, with last entry at 4pm.
Regent's Park Music Festival | 📍Regent's Park, NW1 | Until 20 September | Free
Every Sunday all summer, there's a free band playing in Regent's Park. Jazz, brass, steel and concert bands, with swing dancing on five Sundays and jazz on selected Saturdays. Now in its tenth year.

Ronan McKenzie and Friends: Free Community Day | 📍Bernie Grant Arts Centre, N15 | 15 August | Free
Get a family portrait taken, shape something from clay, make a flower arrangement or learn the basics of weaving, all for free. Tottenham artist Ronan McKenzie has invited a group of creatives to Bernie Grant Arts Centre for a hands on morning, with a pop up library and DJ Sade Lawson playing throughout. The weaving session runs from 11am to 12pm and portraits are first come, first served. Doors open at 10.30am, activities 11am to 1pm. Book a free ticket in advance as spaces are limited.
Edmonton Green Summer Carnival | 📍Edmonton Green, N9 | 14 & 15 August | Free
For two days, Edmonton Green is getting its own mini summer carnival with fairground rides, live performances, family activities, giveaways and a few surprises still under wraps. It is designed as an easy school holiday drop in, so you can turn up, see what is happening and stay for as long as you like. 12pm to 5pm on Friday and Saturday. Entry is free, though some individual vendors may charge.
Back II Life Cafe with Jazzie B and David Rodigan | 📍Camden Market Hawley Wharf, NW1 | 14 August | Free
Jazzie B is joined by reggae DJ and broadcaster David Rodigan for an early evening set by the canal. Pick up a wristband for food discounts around the market, then listen from 5pm to 8pm. Walk-ins are welcome, though booking is encouraged.
Back to Black 20th Anniversary | 📍The Jazz Cafe, Camden, NW1 | 15 August | (£)
Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black turns 20, and The Jazz Cafe is marking it on the Camden stage she once performed on. Singer Ciara Haidar and a full house band will play the album live, including Rehab and Tears Dry on Their Own. Standing tickets are £20, with restaurant tickets from £20 to £80. Doors 6.30pm, finishes 10pm. 18+.
Broomfield Blues: The Real Blues | 📍Broomfield Park Bandstand, N13 | 16 August | Free
Every Sunday in August, Broomfield Park’s lakeside bandstand becomes a free outdoor blues venue. This week starts with an open mic, then House Red bring the louder, soulful side of blues before harmonica player Stuart Maxwell and his Blues Raiders finish the afternoon with classic and original songs. Bring a chair or picnic blanket, grab something to eat and make an afternoon of it by the lake. 1.30pm to 5.30pm. Donations welcome.
Free Comedy in Islington | 📍Brewhouse & Kitchen Highbury, N5 | 16 August | Free
You will not know who is performing until they walk on stage. Every Sunday, London Comedy Group takes over the pub for a free 90 minute stand up show, mixing newer comedians with acts who have performed at Edinburgh Fringe, on TV and internationally. So grab a drink, take your chances on the mystery line-up and see who makes you laugh. Doors 7.45pm, show 8pm to 9.30pm. Free booking recommended as places are limited.
Coggers Family Fun Fair | 📍Friary Park, N20 | 14- 23 August | Free entry
Friary Park turns into a full summer funfair for 10 days, with children’s rides, family attractions, bigger thrill rides, games, prizes and all the usual funfair food. Entry is free, then you pay for rides with tokens, starting at £1.20 each or £10 for 10. Open every day from 12pm to 8pm.
Summer Streets: St John’s Road, Wembley | 📍St John’s Road, HA9 | 15 August | Free
St John’s Road becomes somewhere to stop rather than just pass through this Saturday. Brent’s Summer Streets programme is bringing free family activities, live entertainment, food and drink out onto the high street, with local businesses getting involved too. Come for lunch, see what is happening along the road and make an afternoon of exploring Wembley beyond the usual shops. 12pm to 6pm.
Shōtengai Pan Asian Market | 📍Lower Stable Street, King’s Cross, N1C | 13-16 August | Free
A little slice of a Japanese shopping street comes to King’s Cross this weekend. Shōtengai are neighbourhood streets in Japan lined with independent shops and food spots, and this market borrows that idea with changing stalls from pan Asian makers and traders. Come hungry for things like Japanese breads, cakes, okonomiyaki and takoyaki, then browse homeware, accessories, fashion and other finds from small businesses. Food runs Thursday to Sunday, with the craft market joining from Friday.
King’s Cross Summer Sounds | 📍Coal Drops Yard, N1C | 13 to 23 August | Free
Coal Drops Yard is putting on free live music for 11 days, with a different reason to stop by each evening. One night might bring jazz from Tomorrow’s Warriors, another global folk, queer artists, indie bands or hundreds of singers performing show tunes and pop together. No ticket needed. Find a spot around the Yard and stay for one act or the whole evening. Music runs from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, with longer family programmes on Sundays from 1pm to 6pm.
Sunday Summer Sets | 📍Capel Manor Gardens, Enfield | 16 August | (£)
Bring a blanket and settle into the gardens for an afternoon of live folk, blues, rock and 80s and 90s covers. Between sets, wander through the maze, Fairy Forest and mini zoo, or catch the final day of the Enfield Art Circle exhibition. Gardens open at 10am, with music from 3pm to 8pm. Tickets from £6.
The Camden Fringe | 📍Various venues across Camden and beyond | 3-30 August | (£)
For four weeks, Camden fills up with more than 450 shows across 39 venues. Expect comedy, theatre, music, dance, opera, improv and plenty of ideas that are still rough around the edges in the best way. Most shows last about an hour, so you can book something on a whim, discover someone brilliant before everyone else does, or see the strangest thing in the programme just because you can.
The Saturday Wine Club | 📍Authentique Epicerie & Bar, NW5 | 15 August | (£)
Taste your way through at least eight wines from one region, with cheese and charcuterie matched alongside. The idea is to compare them properly, learn what makes each bottle different and work out what you actually like rather than just ordering the usual. Tickets are £39 plus service charge, with 10% off anything you buy from the shop afterwards. 3pm to 5.30pm
The 2026 World DJ Championships Launch Party | 📍Camden Stables Market Amphitheatre, NW1 | 16 August | Free
Camden is kicking off the countdown to November’s World DJ Championships with a free afternoon of live DJ battles, MCs, breakdancers and beatboxers. Expect former world champion DJs showing what they can do with decks, scratches and live mixes, plus open mic performances and activity inside the Universal Music shop. Matthew Bourne’s The Car Man | 📍Sadler’s Wells, EC1R | 12- 29 August | (£)
Forget the opera house version of Carmen. Matthew Bourne turns the story into a dance thriller set inside a hot, greasy 1950s American garage diner, where the arrival of a mysterious stranger sets off affairs, jealousy, betrayal and revenge. There is no dialogue, with the story told through dance and the familiar music of Carmen. Runs for two hours including an interval. Tickets from £15. Recommended for ages 15+.
St Giles’ Book Fair | 📍St Giles’ Cripplegate, EC2Y | 15 August - 1 September | Free
If you like rummaging through second hand books, this is one of only four chances a year to catch St Giles’ Book Fair. Long tables of used books fill the church, so you can browse properly, pick up something unexpected and come back another day if one visit is not enough. No booking needed. Open daily from 11am to 6.30pm.
Pop Up Summer Proms: Duo Tânwen | 📍Waterlow Park, N6 | 16 August | Free
Waterlow Park is starting three Sundays of free outdoor concerts, and first up are Duo Tânwen. Ruby and Bonnie will play traditional folk music on flute and harp from the North Shelter, returning after performing here last summer. Chairs are available, so find the shelter near the Sir Sydney Waterlow statue and settle in for the afternoon. 2.30pm to around 3.30pm.
Toothsome x Fink’s Summer Fête | 📍Fink’s at Clissold House, N16 | 15 August | Free
Toothsome magazine and Fink’s are taking over the grounds of Clissold House for one long summer afternoon. There will be independent makers to browse, games, seasonal food and drinks, plus a few things they are keeping as surprises until the day. Come for a wander, grab something to eat and stay as the afternoon rolls into evening. No booking needed. 3pm to 9pm.
Wild Stoke Newington: A Mindful Fruity Walk | 📍Abney Park Cemetery, N16 | 16 August | (£)
Slow down and spot the edible plants and fruit trees hiding across Stoke Newington. This gentle 90 minute walk through Abney Park and Clissold Park is less about filling a basket and more about noticing what is growing around you, hearing the stories behind London’s urban fruit and spending time outdoors at a slower pace. It ends at Bloom & Bake with refreshments and a chance to chat with the group. 11am to 1pm.
Caribbean: Reggae Party with The Tighten Up Crew’s Reggae Cookout | 📍Union Chapel, N1 | 16 August | Free
Union Chapel is swapping Sunday quiet for five hours of Jamaican music, Caribbean food and sound system culture. The Tighten Up Crew and veteran selector Gladdy Wax will dig through their vinyl for ska, rocksteady, roots reggae and dub, with Uptown Cuisine serving food alongside. Get there early if you are hungry because the first 30 people through the doors eat for free. 3pm to 8pm. Free tickets are available, with walk ins allowed if there is space.

Bring up to 10 clean clothes you no longer wear and trade them for something new to you. Each item earns tokens depending on whether it is high street, vintage or designer, which you can then spend at the swap. SHEIN, Primark, Boohoo, PrettyLittleThing and Missguided pieces can be donated, but will not earn tokens. 12pm to 3pm.
