Queer Britain Museum | 📍Granary Square, N1C | Until 23 December | Pay what you can
Queer Britain is the UK’s national LGBTQ+ museum, tucked just behind King’s Cross in Granary Square. Its galleries bring together objects, photographs, print and personal stories from LGBTQ+ life and history, with displays changing throughout the year. If you visit this autumn, you’ll find From Exclusion to Inclusion, telling the stories of LGBTQ+ veterans who were dismissed from the armed forces when they were banned from serving, alongside Trans is Human until 29 November. From 21 October there’s also a film and installation built around A Gay Song, an LGBTQ+ protest song first recorded on vinyl in 1972 and re-recorded by the original band more than 50 years later. Open Wednesday to Sunday, 12pm to 6pm. Pay what you can, with £10 suggested or £5 if you’re under 30.
Frieze Sculpture | 📍Regent's Park, NW1 | Until 1 November | Free
Eleven large sculptures by international artists installed across the English Gardens in Regent's Park. Free, no ticket, just walk in.
London Restaurant Festival | 📍Across London | October | Various prices
This is less one big festival and more a month of reasons to eat somewhere new. Restaurants across London put on special dinners, brunches, masterclasses and guided restaurant-hopping events, with more than 40 things happening this year. Rummage through second-hand clothes, furniture, books and homewares at West Green Primary School, brought by hand, no cars. Coffee and bacon butties on site. £1 adults, kids free, cash only, exact change helps. 9.30am to 12.30pm.

A month of events across Bloomsbury's museums, galleries and labs for the festival's 20th year. This year's programme includes a medical comedy night, filmmaking workshops, Diwali celebrations and museum treasure hunts. Over 150 events in total, most free or low cost.
Month of the Dead | 📍Various venues| 1 October - 1 November | (£)
Festival of talks, cemetery tours and silent horror film screenings about death, dying and what comes after. Many events come with a free gin punch on arrival. Over 60 events across London through October, some of the sell out fast.
Korea: 2,000 Years of Creativity | 📍British Museum, WC1B | 1 October - 31 January 2027 | (£)
Two thousand years of Korean art at the British Museum: ancient gold jewellery, Buddhist sculpture, 12th-century celadon pottery and ink landscapes through to work made in living memory. Most of it has never been shown in the UK before. Daily 10am to 5pm, Fridays until 8.30pm.
Black Lesbian and Gay Centre Display | 📍Queer Britain, N1C | Until 7 May 2027 | (£)
In the 1980s, Black lesbian and gay activists built their own centre because mainstream LGBTQ+ spaces didn't include them. This display at Queer Britain tells that story through rarely seen posters and pamphlets from the time, co-curated with people who were there. Part of Camden's Black History Season. £10, £5 under 30s, pay what you can.
Seven Sisters Market 1st Anniversary | 📍Seven Sisters Market, N15 | 3 October | Free
Seven Sisters Market turns one and the party runs all day: live music, dance performances, a piñata-making workshop and birthday cake. Come and celebrate the traders and the community that built it. 12pm to 8pm.
Nazi Slave Labour: Perpetrators and Victims | 📍Wiener Holocaust Library, WC1 | Until 30 October | Free
Between 1939 and 1945, twenty million people were forced to work for the Nazi regime. This exhibition at the Wiener Holocaust Library shows how it worked: the SS, I.G. Farben, Krupp and other companies that profited, the company files and eyewitness testimony that documented it, and portraits of survivors photographed by Mike Stone
The Operating Theatre: 250 Years of Surgery in Hospitals | 📍Hunterian Museum, WC2A | Until 31 October | Free
Exhibition tracing how hospital operating theatres have changed since the 18th century, starting with a recently rediscovered painting of a leg amputation before anaesthesia existed, and ending with photographs of NHS surgical teams today. Free with museum entry, Wednesday to Saturday.
Big Draw Festival Launch | 📍Quentin Blake Centre, EC1R | 2 - 3 October | Free/(£)
The world's biggest drawing festival launches at the new Quentin Blake Centre in Clerkenwell, an old Victorian waterworks now given over entirely to illustration. Saturday is a free day of drawing with professional artists, open to everyone, all ages, just turn up. Friday evening is a panel with illustrators and designers on creativity and social change, ticketed. Friday 6pm, Saturday 11am to 4pm.
London Latino Film Festival | 📍Various venues, London | 2 - 6 October | (£)
The first London Latino Film Festival brings 60 films from across Latin America and its diasporas to London for five days, with screenings, Q&As and industry sessions.
Vintage Bus Rides on the 106 | 📍Finsbury Park, N4 | 3 October | Free
Fancy going to east London in style? For one day the London Bus Museum puts 1930s to 70s buses back on the 106, running from Finsbury Park through Stoke Newington, Clapton and Hackney. Hop on at any 106 stop, no ticket, just turn up.
Fantastic Fungi Walk | 📍Railway Fields, N4 | 3 October | Free
Once autumn arrives, Railway Fields starts sprouting mushrooms and fungi in all sorts of unexpected places. Izzy from The Conservation Volunteers is leading a slow wander around the nature reserve to see what’s growing, spot different species and work out what you’ve found along the way. A nice excuse to look a little closer at what’s happening on the woodland floor at this time of year. Meet at the Railway Fields front gate at 11am. The walk lasts around an hour.
NFL London Fan Party | 📍BOXPARK Camden, NW1 | 4 October | (£)
American football is back in London, and BOXPARK Camden is turning game day into an all day affair. NFL fans can meet there before the match for hot dogs, beer pong, DJs and drinks on the rooftop, then come back afterwards and keep the day going. You don’t need to be heading to the stadium either, so it also works as a gathering spot for anyone who wants to spend the day around other NFL fans. From 11am to 11pm.
Wolves Lane Autumn Market | 📍Wolves Lane Centre, N22 | 4 October | Free
Wolves Lane, opens up for the day as the summer growing season ends. Buy seedlings raised on site by the Wolves Lane and Black Rootz growers, take a tour of the farm, and stay for food, workshops and activities for kids. Marking the start of Black History Month. 10.30am to 4pm.

Two-day festival for girls and their families at the Business Design Centre in Islington, timed to the International Day of the Girl. Four sessions across the weekend, including a dedicated SEND session on Saturday morning.
